If you are an art lover and you still haven’t been to O art space, what are you even doing with your life? O art space is on the first floor of studio O (a modern furniture studio with the gallery on the upper floors). The gallery is the hub of all artists residing in Lahore and the best place to meet these artists.
The owner Omer Nabi has dedicated the space to contemporary artworks like R.M Naeem, Shiblee Munir and Aakif Suri, whose works have been recently exhibited. The gallery holds frequent exhibitions of artists from all walks of life. Artworks of artists are put on display for ten days before some other artists’ work is displayed which itself says so much about the gallery’s popularity amongst the locals.
Exhibitions and Collections at O Art Space
What’s interesting is that the exhibitions and collections are so well thought out that even the conventional forms of art such as calligraphy are presented in the form of modernistic methods. Recently Mohsin Keiany’s work was exhibited which comprised of birds made out of junk metals which resonates the significance of experimental art mediums that are rarely experienced in other galleries.
Group exhibitions and solo ones- both are entertained by the owner, creating a platform where artists get to collaborate and interact with each other.
The opening of the shows is usually jam-packed with people from the art sphere indulging in conversations. Even if you don’t know anyone there, you walk out making acquaintances and more knowledge of contemporary art. All credit goes to Omer Nabi in that case.
