There was a time when big ideas were limited to board-room discussions, school fairs, or classroom brainstorming sessions that never quite turned into reality. But not anymore. Today, the country is buzzing with young innovators and changemakers who aren’t just dreaming, they’re building. And at the heart of this growing movement is SparkTank, a youth-focused startup incubator based in Lahore, that’s quietly (and sometimes loudly) shaping the future of entrepreneurship all over Pakistan.
SparkTank, a project of the Beaconhouse, is a one-of-its-kind youth-based business incubator that focuses on empowering school and college-based entrepreneurs aged 10-19 years. Designed to nurture early-stage ideas, SparkTank operates as a fully virtual, zero-fee incubation programme, ensuring that access to innovation and entrepreneurship is not limited by geography or financial barriers. Through structured incubation, mentorship, prototyping support, seed funding and exposure to investors and industry leaders, SparkTank equips young founders with the tools needed to turn ideas into viable solutions.
Since its inception in 2023, SparkTank has successfully completed two cohorts, with Cohort 3 currently nearing completion, and has supported the graduation of over 15 startups to date. What truly sets SparkTank apart is its belief that innovation does not need to wait until graduation; it can begin in a school classroom.
SparkTank’s reach extends across Pakistan, with startups emerging from major urban centres such as Lahore, Karachi, and Islamabad, as well as from smaller cities including Chishtian, Sahiwal, Peshawar, and Quetta.
Equally diverse is the student community behind these ventures. SparkTank founders come from a wide spectrum of educational institutions such as Aitchison College, International School Lahore, Lahore Grammar School, public schools, private academies, and online learning platforms.
The incubator has already nurtured some remarkable success stories. Arduino King developed SMARTGUID, an assistive stick for the visually impaired, and won the Bachapreneur Competition organized by Bachaa Party, NIC Karachi and LUMS Center for Entrepreneurship. GoClean, founded by Maryam Saleem, transforms organic waste into clean biogas and earned her recognition as a Youth Global Network Ambassador from Pakistan.
SparkTank provides a comprehensive incubation experience designed to guide young founders from ideation to execution.
